The battle of Arnhem was an airlanding and battle during the Second World War round Arnhem from september 17 to september 25, 1944. This battle was a defeat for the Allies, with the result that the north and south part of the Netherlands was not liberated. This defeat, also known as 'a bridge to far' led to the winter of hunger in the west of the Netherlands. HollandDutchTours.nl will take you to the historic sites of this battle. We visit the landing sites of the paratroopers, the Airborne Museum Hartenstein, a few cemeteries and the John Frost Bridge. Through old photographs and films make a connection between the present and the past.
